This Sunday we are sharing Shelley Crocket, owner and founder of Microdose Investing. This past year Shelley started her own business, inspired to teach people how to invest and launched her course at MicrodoseInvesting.com while offering under-a-minute micro doses of investment education on instagram and TikTok. She was inspired by the fact she knew so many friends who were afraid of investing, or knew how to throw money into a 401K, but didn't really understand the basics.
This Sunday we are sharing Shelley Crocket, owner and founder of Microdose Investing. Shelley was born in Washington DC and moved out to Phoenix for high school with her mom and sister and went to Xavier College Prep. Afterwards she spent her 20's in Los Angeles, wanting to be a screenwriter, but ended up working in the film industry, primarily in marketing and social media as it was just developing (remember myspace?) when an intern told her about Facebook, but was only open to college kids. Fast forward another 15 years, Shelley is a veteran of social media and moved into digital advertising as the social space evolved, She's worked in entertainment (Warner Bros), alternative health, and hospitality (Choice Hotels).
She's also a novelist, with a few manuscripts under her bed yet to be published, her publishednovel, Code 44, is a spy thriller that portrays a dystopian future where big tech is and big government are conspiring to roll out the neural implant into society.
This past year she started her own business, inspired to teach people how to invest and launched her course at MicrodoseInvesting.com while offering under-a-minute micro doses of investment education on instagram and TikTok. She was inspired by the fact she knew so many friends who were afraid of investing, or knew how to throw money into a 401K, but didn't really understand the basics.
At 40 she was a beginner too, and still remembers what it felt like to be a beginner and wanted to create a very practical course that was comprehensive, jargon free, easy-to-understand - and most importantly in micro doses (15 minutes or less every day) as she knows how most people are so overwhelmed these days, it's daunting to think of tackling a whole new subject such as investing, so she set out to make it as easy as possible.
Always in search of her calling or passion, Shelley read "Discover Your Dharma" by Sahara Rose where she scored high as a teacher in the quizzes, and from there a lightbulb went off. She wanted to help people, and helping people with investing seemed like a great start.
Lately, Shelley has been trying to impact the world through her new course. In addition, she also just created a free course for those that might not have the money called What Matters Most Investing so that if they have the will, and not the funds, they can still know at a high level what they need to know before investing. Shelley shares that she also believes in our energy, and is trying to come to the world in service and happiness.
Fun facts about Shelley: she love dogs, but has never been solely responsible for one. That might be her next passion that she gravitates towards! She recently fostered and it was really rewarding! Shelley also paints and loves photography. As long as she is being creative and or helping people, then Shelley feels like she is going in the right direction.
