This Sunday we are sharing Lynn Julian, co-author of “Business Bliss or Co-Founder Chaos.” A San Francisco Bay Area native, Lynn moved to Arizona where she raised her two children and currently resides with her husband. Lynn and co-author Gina met in high school and later, after separate universities, separate careers and ultimately living in different states, both became entrepreneurs. They both started new ventures in very different markets and did so with close friends. Throughout the years of growing their respective businesses they would find similarities in their experiences, and after a decade of growing successful companies, both dissolved their co-founding partnerships. Ironically, and strangely, they both happened to sign their exit agreements with their co-founders within 24 hours of each other. Neither Lynn or Gina knew what was going on in the other's business at the time; it was a complete coincidence! In supporting each other through their respective restructurings, they decided to join forces to write a book, “Business Bliss or Co-Founder Chaos”, sharing their experiences and knowledge of the exciting and often tumultuous road of launching a company and the ups and downs of doing so with a close friend.
Lynn and Gina interviewed dozens of entrepreneurs in many different industries all over the world. Some decided against joining forces with another for their venture, while others had one or more co-founders, many were successful, and many others crashed and burned. Lynn and Gina aimed to share some of these stories as well as some ‘woulda-coulda-shoulda’ scenarios from their own stories, and compiled them into one book.
For anyone who is considering starting a business, whether with a friend or family member or solo, this book is a helpful compilation full of suggestions, stories and scenarios illustrated by their own experiences and those of many other co-founding relationships across many different industries.
